IVR announces date and venue of 2018 AGM
The Institute of Vehicle Recovery has confirmed the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at the Crowne Plaza, Stratford upon Avon on Saturday 3 March 2018.
The IVR had considered changing the 2018 venue as following extensive refurbishment the hotel has been upgraded from a Holiday Inn to a Crowne Plaza, with the associated increase in prices.
IVR chairman Chris Hoare FIVR said;
We were conscious of the increase in price for our members and guests so initially carried out a comprehensive search of other venues across the country. We haven’t increased prices of our accommodation packages for over four years but the search showed prices would have had to increase wherever we went, so the decision was made to go back to Stratford upon Avon.
The format of the weekend is yet to be confirmed but the AGM will be held on the Saturday afternoon with only IVR members being eligible to attend. In the evening all are welcome to join the IVR Council at the Gala Dinner, which will include the presentation of the Jack Ovenden Award 2018 for ‘Outstanding Student of the Year’.
Over the years the Stratford upon Avon venue has proved highly popular with its close proximity to the town providing the added advantage of excellent and numerous eateries for those staying on the Friday evening and outstanding shopping and sightseeing for those not involved with the AGM or other meetings.
Further details will be announced in due course.
