Description | VR14 covers using twin boom recovery units when carrying out routine removal procedures on commercial vehicles between 3500kg and 44000kg GVM. This module also covers the safety requirements associated with the use of twin boom recovery units. Learning Outcomes • Boom rigging procedures • Purpose, function and loading procedure of an ‘A’ frame and fittings • Towing procedure and potential hazards • Releasing the casualty Practical Outcome • The student will be able to demonstrate how to deploy heavy twin boom equipment, how to lift the casualty safely and secure it, the ‘preparation to tow’ requirements and the correct unloading procedures |
