Lantra Awards and the Institute of Vehicle Recovery announce new working partnership
As one of the UK’s leading training and qualification awarding bodies, Lantra is delighted to announce an exciting new working partnership with the Institute of Vehicle Recovery (IVR). As leaders in our fields, both organisations are committed to raising standards, supporting standardisation and ultimately providing a safer working environment for those operating in the vehicle recovery sector, therefore this closer relationship makes perfect sense.
Lantra is the UK’s leading awarding body for those operating in the highways and land-based sectors. We develop, quality assure and certify training and qualifications with the primary aim of improving standards of health and safety best practice in the workplace. We work closely with leading industry bodies, like the IVR, to ensure their training meets the exacting quality standards the sector demands. This partnership will see us endorsing and quality assuring the IVR’s principal VR training modules and we are looking to provide administration support across NHSS 17/17B. We’re confident that our breadth of experience in training quality assurance, coupled with the IVR’s in-depth knowledge of the vehicle recovery sector will both help strengthen the scheme and drive up industry standards.
Andrew Hudson, Lantra business relationship manager commented: “We are delighted to be working closely with the IVR to support them across their training programme. Operating in partnership with like-minded people who are fully committed to the highways sector and the safety of those working in it means we can achieve so much more”.
IVR chairman Chris Hoare FIVR said: “With extensive experience in the other sector schemes, Lantra seemed the obvious choice of partner to endorse and quality assure the IVR’s VR modules, which focus on health and safety best practice for the roadside rescue and recovery industry. With Lantra’s support, the plan is to further raise the standards of our courses and the Sector Scheme to keep those who work in our industry as safe as possible.”
