The Institute Signs Strategic Partnership Agreement
14 July 2022 - The Institute of Vehicle Recovery (IVR) were invited to present at PROFCon 2022, which had a definite flavour of the emergency services with both the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC), the National Fire Chief’s Council (NFCC) and UK Rescue Organisation (UKRO) in attendance, also presenting were the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB).
Nick Ovenden, IVR President delivered an interesting presentation regarding the National Highways Sector Scheme National Training Scheme, it’s origins and how it has helped the recovery industry to achieve the highest level of training standards, in the past, the present and into the future.
The pinnacle of the event for the Institute was the signing of the PROF Strategic Partnership Agreement by Chris Hoare, Chairman of the Institute, giving all parties a platform to communicate and collaborate. Since discussions regarding a possible agreement, the Institute and other Federation partners have already been more closely aligned and are working better together for the benefit of all.
The partnerships are already showing progress, just a week before the conference the Institute received final approval from UKRO regarding the handover protocol guidance for electric vehicles - from the vehicle recovery operator to the Fire Service and vice versa, a key piece of work to ensure a singly adopted process for the fire services and the recovery industry.
