VR12 - Ancillary Equipment (heavy vehicle recovery)
Description | VR12 covers using a commercial vehicle tow pole or other types of ancillary equipment when carrying out routine removal procedures on commercial vehicles between 3500kg and 44000kg GVM, where a recovery cannot take place using standard recovery vehicles. This module also covers the safety requirements associated with the use of tow poles, chassis adaptors and other types of ancillary equipment. Learning Outcomes • Health and safety requirements applicable to the use of tow poles, chassis adaptors or other ancillary equipment • Tow pole, chassis adaptor and ancillary equipment variations • Operating procedures when towing using a tow pole, chassis adaptor or using other types of ancillary equipment Practical Outcome • The student will be able to demonstrate the preparation of a casualty, the correct fitting and removal of a tow pole, chassis adaptors or other ancillary equipment |
